The local need

A clear need for shelter, outreach, and housing support.

A point-in-time count is a one-night snapshot—not an annual total—and is widely understood to be an undercount. Even so, the 2025 local results show the scale of the need.

What “low barrier” means

Fewer barriers to entry. Clear expectations for safety.

Low-barrier service is designed to welcome people who are often screened out elsewhere. Safe Space does not require sobriety or background checks to receive seasonal shelter support.

Low barrier does not mean no rules. Guests are expected to follow a simple code of conduct focused on behavior and a safe environment for everyone.
